As a network engineer your responsibilities will consist of designing, installing, configuring, supporting, repairing and maintaining networks and ensuring the network components (switches, routers, firewalls) function as intended.

Duties:

- Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, VPNs, including routers, firewalls, switches, and other hardware
- Configure, test, and maintain LAN/WAN equipment and related services
- Identifying, diagnosing and resolving network problems
- Architecting, creating, deploying new network configurations
- Good understanding of fault tolerance networking
- Hardening existing network infrastructures
- Upgrading firmwares (planning, testing)
- Monitor and maintain all levels of network security internally and externally
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
- Select and implement security tools, policies and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team

You will participate in onguard duty concerning level 2 support.

Vereisten

The following are a must:

- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP
- Hands on experience with equipment of a.o. Allied Telesis, Cisco, Fortinet
- Understanding of VLANs, VPNs, VRF, NAT, 802.1X, network security
- Scripting in Bash, Ruby, Python, Powershell
- Willingness to work outside “standard office hours” (nightly/weekend on-call escalations, onsite interventions), willingness to participate in onguard duty (secondline support)
