Lab IT Support Engineer – Braine L’Alleud

We have an opportunity for a Lab IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic Technical Resource Group team, and work onsite for one of our Key Customers based in Braine L’Alleud.

 

What You'll Do
Working as part of a dynamic team you will be providing 1st and 2nd line on-site user support. This includes analyse incidents, problems & service requests, propose solutions and help implementing them. You will also be responsible for any escalation and follow up.
 

Some of the daily activities are:

 

  • Incident management, level 1 and 2, for hardware, OS and software, according to procedures, or best effort
  • Service Request management
  • Asset management
  • International support on-call in a 24/7 team
  • Follow-up on incidents and requests
  • Hardware configuration of workstation or system (bar code reader, label printer, network equipment, etc.)
  • Installation and configuration of OS and software
  • Delivery, installation and integration of the equipment and the network on-site
  • Restore hardware and software functionality by replacement or repair
  • Manage access rights for Windows (AD and local) and software
  • Drafting of procedures, execution of test sheets in the scope of projects
  • Participate in the maintenance of documents
  • Coaching the end-user
  • Technical advice
  • Communicate any useful information to colleagues and / or coordinator
     

 

What You'll Need
The ideal candidate will be an expert in dealing with customers at all levels; you bring hands-on technical skills as well as great interpersonal skills.
 

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position or in a local IT support
  • Excellent knowledge of PC hardware architecture and Windows OS
  • General knowledge on backup, archiving, images (data management, DRP)
  • Functional knowledge of client/server architecture and network architecture
  • Experience with a ticketing tool
  • Basic knowledge of project management and security
  • Windows OS certification and ITIL Foundation certification are a plus
  • Experience with a MES or SCADA is a plus
  • Experience in a validated environment is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of GMP regulations is a plus
  • Very good communication skills, both verbal and written in French & English, Dutch is a plus
