An IT Field Engineer provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues on-site. They diagnose problems, implement solutions, and maintain systems to ensure smooth IT operations. Responsibilities include configuring devices and providing end-user support to minimize downtime and enhance productivity. Additionally, they install, configure, and repair IT infrastructure, manage network connections, and offer hands-on support across various locations in Belgium.

You’ll have knowledge and experience of the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science / applied informatics or a relevant equivalent (Syntra, VDAB IT course) 
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role  
  • Familiarity with the following technologies / tools (deep expertise not required): 
    • Ticketing tool (Service Now, Jira or other)  
    • Networking concepts (VLANs, switching, Cisco Meraki, network rack cabling, etc.) 
    • CMDB (IT asset management)  
  • Possess excellent communication, patience, and customer service skills. Proactive, discreet, and punctual. Utilize analytical insight to its fullest extent 
  • Hold a valid driver's license (Category B) and enjoy traveling 
  • Ability to lift heavy materials, such as large printers, without difficulty 
  • English, Dutch and French are required
