In this key role, you'll be a driving force behind our data and analytics initiatives for the NMBS Train Maintenance Directorate, combining the expertise of Application Owner, Developer, and Functional Analyst.

What You'll Do:

  • Needs Analyst: Uncover the reporting and dashboard needs of NMBS Train Maintenance and translate them into clear and actionable requirements.
  • Solution Architect: Design and develop functional specifications for specific reporting purposes, ensuring they align with business objectives.
  • Industry Expert: Stay abreast of maintenance schedules, immobilization plans, transport plans, and HR-related work schedules, demonstrating a willingness to visit workshops across the country.
  • Reporting Specialist: Provide input and recommendations on reporting techniques to the business, using mockups, proof-of-concepts, and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance Specialist: Validate reports and dashboards developed by internal or external developers, ensuring they meet business standards.
  • Knowledge Base Builder: Document solutions and keep documentation up-to-date, becoming the go-to resource for colleagues and business stakeholders.
  • Roadmap Collaborator: Collaborate with users, suppliers, and other stakeholders to develop and manage roadmaps for improvements, bug fixes, and incident resolution.
  • Technical Expert: Serve as the expert for the applications, reports, and dashboards you manage, providing guidance to colleagues and business stakeholders.
  • Architect Liaison: Ensure alignment with existing business and solution architecture, consulting with Enterprise, System, and Solution Architects as needed.
  • Testing Specialist: Contribute to the development of test scenarios, functional testing, and data cleaning activities.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role (Application Owner, Functional Analyst, SAP BW Developer, etc.).
  • Reporting Expertise: In-depth knowledge of and demonstrated experience with reporting tools like SAP BW, SAP BW/4HANA, Webi, BO, SAP Analytics Cloud, and PowerBi.
  • Migration Savvy: Experience with a migration project from BW (7.x) to BW/4HANA.
  • SAP MM Master: Thorough knowledge of SAP MM.
  • SAP Expertise: Additional knowledge of SAP FI/CO, PM, and PS is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in various analysis techniques, including use cases and scenario development.
  • Agile Methodology: Knowledge of and experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Multilingual Communication: Strong fluency in Dutch, French, and English, both spoken and written.
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Methodical and Detail-Oriented: Ability to work methodically, accurately, and with a keen eye for detail.
  • Problem-Solving and Proactive Approach: Proactive problem-solving skills and a strong focus on practical solutions, coupled with organizational proficiency.
