Join the BI & Analytics Team as a Data & Application Analyst for NMBS Transport Operations Projects.

In this dynamic role, you'll combine the expertise of Application Owner, Developer, and Functional Analyst to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize train operations.

Key Responsabilities:

• Needs Analysis: Uncover and document the reporting and dashboard needs of NMBS Transport Operations.
• Functional Specifications: Translate business needs into clear and actionable functional specifications for specific reporting purposes.
• Industry Engagement: Maintain regular contact with diverse departments and their directors to understand their requirements.
• Domain Expertise: Demonstrate a keen interest in maintenance schedules, immobilization plans, transport plans, and HR-related work schedules, with a willingness to visit workshops nationwide.
• Reporting Expertise: Provide valuable input and recommendations on reporting techniques to the business, utilizing mockups, proof-of-concepts, and best practices.
• Quality Assurance: Validate reports and dashboards developed by internal or external developers, ensuring they meet business standards.
• Knowledge Management: Document solutions and keep documentation up-to-date, becoming the go-to resource for colleagues and business stakeholders.
• Roadmap Collaboration: Work closely with users, suppliers, and other stakeholders to develop and manage roadmaps for improvements, bug fixes, and incident resolution.
• Technical Expertise: Serve as the expert for the applications, reports, and dashboards you manage, providing guidance to colleagues and business stakeholders.
• Architectural Alignment: Ensure alignment with existing business and solution architecture, consulting with Enterprise, System, and Solution Architects as needed.

• Testing and Data Cleaning: Contribute to the development of test scenarios, functional testing, and data cleaning activities.

   

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role (Application Owner, Functional Analyst, Developer, etc.).
• Azure Data Factory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Azure Data Factory and its capabilities.
• Agile Scrum Methodology: Familiarity and experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Public Transportation Sector Knowledge: Understanding of the public transportation industry and its specific challenges.
• SAP Data Extraction: Expertise in extracting SAP data and integrating it into Azure.
• Power BI Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Power BI as a data visualization tool.
• Analytical Skills: Expertise in various analysis techniques, including use cases and scenario development.
• Multilingual Communication: Fluency in Dutch, French, and English, both spoken and written.
• Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to effectively interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Methodical and Detail-Oriented: Ability to work methodically, accurately, and with a keen eye for detail.
• Problem-Solving and Proactive Approach: Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a focus on practical solutions, coupled with organizational proficiency.
